   PTO FAQ

What is the PTO all about?

The purpose of the PTO is to create and sustain a sense of community among the families at the School, to help and support teachers and staff, to organize and coordinate parent volunteer efforts, to identify needs particular to the School, and provide financial support in meeting those needs through various fundraisers. In addition, the PTO helps to support communication within the School by publishing a PTO newsletter and sending periodic email updates to parents.

What is new with the PTO this year?

The PTO recognizes that work and family commitments can make active involvement in the School difficult. The PTO strives to match your individual interests and availability with the needs of the School. The PTO is grateful for any time you are able to volunteer. We welcome any level of commitment you are able to provide -- from an hour a week to an hour once a year!

What kind of commitment do I have to make?

When does the PTO meet?

PTO meetings are held once a month and are typically an hour long. PTO meetings provide an open forum for discussions between parents and faculty regarding the needs of the School and suggested improvements. These meetings are a great opportunity to share your ideas with a group dedicated to the betterment of the School. Even if you are unable to attend PTO meetings, you can still be involved in the PTO. For the 2007-2008 school year, meetings will be held the second Wednesday of every month at the Lotus campus. Meeting notices will be posted a few days prior to each meeting.

How do I get involved?

PTO sign-up sheets are available in the office of each campus or through the link on the school website.  Submit your completed form with the annual dues to the school office.
